LATEST UPDATE: Now you
can track your PPC keywords from within your Clickbank account... See exactly
which keywords are sending you sales and making money and which ones are losing
money! This is MASSIVE for PPC marketers!
Now back to the TID tracking feature of CB.
It's taken them years but ClickBank have finally
done it. They've added an extremely simple but incredibly powerful ad tracking
feature. In this page, I'm going to show you how it works and how you can
implement it to make more money promoting The Pandora's Box sites and products.
First of all I should say don't worry about your
old affiliate hoplinks, they will continue to work. This is a powerful EXTRA
feature you can now use if you wish to track where your sales come from
specifically.
Why would you want to track ads?
• Well, if you have hoplinks on multiple pages of
your site, by using this feature you can see exactly which page is sending the
most sales, showing you what works and what doesn't.
• You can track hoplinks promoting the same product
across multiple sites in your site network under the one Clickbank account.
• You can see which traffic sources are sending the
sales.
• With a little work you can implement them into your
PPC ad campaigns to show you which keywords are most profitable.
• And much more...
This is how to implement the simple 'tid' code,
taken from Clickbank:
"The format of the hoplink URL with a tracking
code is located below.
http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net?tid=XXXXXXXX
The tracking code (which is "XXXXXXXX"
in the example above) can be 8 characters long, containing alpha and numeric
characters only. Any tracking code longer than 8 characters will be truncated.
Any tracking code containing characters other than alpha or numeric values will
have the entire tracking code removed from the hoplink and order process and
will not show in the transaction report. Tracking codes received with upper and
lower case characters will be set to all uppercase."
So, as an example, if you are promoting our Pandora's Box site you would get the publisher
account name from this page (tpbdotnet) and plug it into the URL in the
place of PUBLISHER. You'd replace AFFILIATE with your own
clickbank ID and then you'd put your desired tracking code on the end replacing
the XXXXXXXX.
So it might look like this:
http://youraffiliateid.tpbdotnet.hop.clickbank.net?tid=convopg6
Now, when you send traffic through that link and
make a sale, convopg6 will show up in the TID column in your Clickbank stats
next to the sale - showing you where the sale came from. Very simple but very
effective.
